Change for the Sake of the Planet: the Dutch weed burger
the Dutch Weed Burger can make a considerable contribution to the health of citizens and the planet
Super-tasty 100% plant-powered hamburger
Our ever-increasing demand for calorie-rich, animal derived food products is placing an immense strain on our natural resources and adversely affecting the environment. Based on Dutch scientists’ developments that position seaweed and algae as new super-foods, packed with high-quality proteins, vitamins, and minerals, two entrepreneurs have invented a way to use this sustainable material as their primary resource in order to secure future food production. They developed a 100 per cent plant-powered hamburger. Production of these new super-foods requires neither additional freshwater, nor agricultural land, because their ingredients grow rapidly in the world’s oceans. As a result, the Dutch Weed Burger can make a considerable contribution to the health of citizens and the planet.
