Luxury Fashion House Nina Ricci Goes Double Dutch
Fashion house, Nina Ricci, has appointed two Dutch designers to be their new creative directors.
Desinger duo Rushemy Botter, 33, and Lisi Herrebrugh, 29, have already gained industry recognition with awards for their Antwerp-based menswear label Botter winning the prestigious Grand Prize at the Festival d’Hyères. The duo will oversee its Nina Ricci’s ready-to-wear collections, effective immediately.
Both Botter and Herrebrugh’s designs are inspired by their shared Caribbean heritage – Botter having grown up in Curacao and Herrebrugh living between the Netherlands and the Dominican Republic.
"We are very honored to be a part of this fantastic project," said Botter and Herrebrugh in an official statement. "We feel very inspired by the fresh and subtle codes that make Nina Ricci such a beautiful ode to femininity. We aim to create a new spirit, a spirit of our times: effortless, sophisticated and strong."
Botter and Herrebrugh's debut collection will be revealed for Pre-Fall 2019, followed by their first runway show for Fall 2019 during Paris Fashion Week next year in March.
