Dutch TV Shows Come Away With Two Wins At Canadian Media Festival

Two Dutch Televsion programmes "Floortje Back To Syria" and "De Zaak Menten"have won top awards at the esteemed Banff World Media Festival in Canada.


Floortje Dessing won the Rockie award in the catergory 'Social and Investigative'for her two part documentary, "Floortje Back To Syria". The documentary retraces Dessing's steps on her visit to Syria nine years ago showing how life is there now. "Over the moon," said Dessing in reaction to winning. "Made with blood, sweat and tears."

The second prize went to the three part series "De Zaak Menten" about the journalist Hans Knoop's efforts to track down war crininal Pieter Menten, by broadcater Omroep Max in the catergory non-English drama.
