Dutch football squad trains with Google Glass
Holland’s national football team is using Google Glass to train in the run-up to the World Cup in Brazil.
Unique Google Glass solution
The squad will soon also deploy Oculus Rift during training. Dutch IT innovation firm Triple IT has developed a unique Google Glass solution with live video analysis and is working on an interactive Oculus Rift application to relive game situations. In cooperation with the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) Triple IT created a unique analysis app for trainers that gives static information and real-time video of games through Google Glass. While match recordings are generally analysed in retrospect, the Glass app enables trainers to have a more profound insight into player movements as the action takes place. The second app, made for Oculus Rift, will enable players to relive previous game situations through virtual reality. Players can look back at specific actions, experience them from a different perspective and simulate alternative actions to gain a better understanding and improve their game.
