TenCate

Dutch firm TenCate, that produces advanced fibres, has been working to turn cars into considerably cleaner vehicles by making them lighter. TenCate is the exclusive supplier of carbon composite bodywork for the entire Alfa Romeo 4C monocoque. Conventional automobiles have separate bodywork and chassis elements. A monocoque is a load-bearing component and does away with the need for a separate chassis, therefore reducing weight. TenCate's 'Continuous Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic Composite' significantly reduces processing costs for this type of chassis, achieving a breakthrough in being able to deliver composite construction in large volumes for the automotive industry.
