Smart Cities
Experts predict the world’s urban population will double by 2050. As the global population continues to grow, more and more people are moving to cities. Since our planet is becoming more urban, our cities should be 'smart' enhancing quality and performance of urban services, to reduce costs and resource consumption. The Netherlands – a small and densely populated delta nation – was one of the earliest urbanized countries. Over the centuries, the Dutch have found creative new ways to manage complex urban situations. Through original spatial planning the Dutch have developed a high quality of city living that is well-balanced with its agricultural landscape.
