Hydrogen Generation Systems

In an effort to move away from traditional fossil fuels, we need to adopt and adapt new energy sources. Hydrogen, sometimes referred-to as ‘the energy of the future’, is a clean and flexible energy carrier that can be converted into electricity by using fuel cells. HyGear combines the gas supply from on-site gas generation systems with conventional distribution methods, to offer maximum reliability against minimum costs.

Low environmental impact

The Hy.GEN also lowers the environmental impact. By re-using the waste gases and waste heat of the process, the energy efficiency of the Hy.GEN® is optimised to the highest level. No external fuel gases are needed for the reform reaction and steam generation. Road transport is also reduced, removing harmful CO2 from the environment and customers can be assured of continuous reliable supplies of the gas for their industrial processes at their specific locations. HyGear combines the gas supply from on-site gas generation systems with conventional distribution methods, to offer maximum reliability against minimum costs.

Cost saving technology

Currently, hydrogen is produced centrally and transported to the customer by road transportation. Another conventional method of producing hydrogen is by an energy-intensive process called electrolysis. Dutch energy firm HyGear has developed energy efficient hydrogen generators (Hy.GEN) based on steam reforming. The highly energy efficient and physically compact Hy.GEN system can be installed at a customer's site, and offers a safer, more reliable and cost attractive alternative to conventional centralised hydrogen supply.
